Blanched Broccoli

3 broccoli crowns
2 tbsp salt

  1. Cut broccoli crowns into small, equal-sized pieces. Wash them in clean water.

  2. Fill a large pot with water and add 2 tablespoons of salt. Bring the water to a rolling boil.

  3. Add broccoli to boiling water. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until they turn bright green.

  4. While broccoli cooks, fill a large bowl with cold water and ice cubes.

  5. Take the broccoli out of the hot water with a slotted spoon and put it straight into the ice bath for 2 minutes.

  6. Remove broccoli out of the ice water and dry it gently with a clean towel.
